GERRIT RIETVELD, sculpture pavilion for International Sculpture Exhibition, Sonsbeek Park, Arnhem 1955 (re-assembled 1965 as “Rietveld Pavilion for the Kröller-Müller Sculpture Garden; re-built 2010 with use of some original elements)
Simplicity and geometric qualities characteristic of De Stijl architecture. Three corridor-like open galleries are arranged around a central 12 x 12 m space. Materials: masonry, glass, steel (beams). The open structure suggests a relationship between nature and the built evironment.
